Why “low bono”? There are plenty of extraordinary legal service providers for pro bono clients in the metropolitan D.C. area who do much-needed and important work, but to qualify for those services, a family’s income cannot exceed two times the federal poverty level, or about $50,000 for a family of four.
A large portion of our population is underrepresented when it comes to legal services. Those especially in need of estate planning are people who put their lives on the line to serve the public, such as first responders, law enforcement officers and our military. We also consider teachers, school support staff and nurses among our heroes. Many of these jobs offer only a modest salary, and attorney's fees are usually a luxury that is not within the budget.
If you are a teacher, supporting staff at a local school, a nurse, emergency medical technician, firefighter, police officer, or if you are active in the military, and your family's adjusted gross income does not exceed $100,000 for a married couple or $50,000 for a single person, please call us about "low bono" representation. We would be delighted to work with you.
