Last year, Birchstone Moore supported the following organizations making an impact in our community:
American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
Capital Caring.Provides advanced home care and hospice care to D.C. area residents of all ages at all times.
CHEER (Community Health and Empowerment through Education and Research) CHEER provides Takoma Park and Silver Spring residents with the knowledge and ability to create healthy, thriving communities by using community indicator data. It has developed an award-winning, community-driven process for identifying community vision and goals, and for gathering the information and resources needed to measure and fulfill them.
Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund This fund supports and assists the Greater Washington Community Foundation’s nonprofit partners in providing supplies and direct services to communities affected by COVID-19, especially low-income communities, hourly wage and gig economy workers, people of color, and people experiencing homelessness who may be disproportionately impacted.
Familes4Familes DMV Families4Families (F4F) began in March 2020 as an immediate response to food insecurity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic by bringing together student volunteers (F4F Student Clubs) and local nonprofits to collect groceries and other essential items and get them in the hands of families in need.
Hope for Henry Reinventing how hospitals care for children and their families through innovative, scientifically tested programs that help hospitalized kids confront the challenges of serious illness, adhere to their medical plans, and thrive.
The House DC The House DC is breaking cycles of poverty, homelessness, incarceration, and unemployment by providing at risk teens in Anacostia with comprehensive services to help them establish healthy and sustainable futures through its faith-based after-school programs and nourishment.
Housing Up Housing Up develops affordable housing in DC and offers comprehensive support services to homeless and low-income families.
Kind Campaign An internationally recognized non-profit organization that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying through their globe movement, documentary film, in-school assemblies and educational curriculums.
Neighborhood Legal Service Program NLSP is a nonprofit legal services organization that provides free legal information, advice and representation to low-income District of Columbia residents on civil legal matters.
